GMCC regularly monitors council plans. This month Dick Venes looked at ten Traffic Management Unit schemes presented by Manchester City Council Traffic Management Unit, including three related directly to cycling: a proposed new off-road cycling facility along the Princess Parkway from Wilbraham Road to Claremont Road (looks good); an extension to part of the Manchester Cycleway from Queens Road to the Irk valley (a couple of modifications were requested) and some safety measures on Brunswick Street (University area).

Dick was invited on BBC Greater Manchester Radio’s breakfast show on Tuesday 22nd August to talk about the cycling content in and impact of the TIF bid. This was useful boost to GMCC’s profile, but Dick wonders whether anyone actually heard the interview!
