Salford Folding Bike Race - 30th August 2008

The first race took place at the inaugural Smithfield Nocturne in 2007 and saw 40 suited competitors battle it out in front of 5000 cheering spectators around Smithfield Market in central London. Irlam Lock goes missing

This is Irlam Lock, a very convenient passage for walkers and cyclists who want to cross the Manchester Ship Canal between Salford and Trafford.

Unfortunately, like the Gorsey Bank Bridge, Irlam Lock hasn’t made it onto the council produced CycleGM maps.

Why this is we don’t know, and the omissions don’t end here… (to be continued).
